Sumire (Mother)

Maruko's mother.

She is down to earth person and good at cooking. Most of the time she scolds Maruko but usually forgives Maruko with her warm heart when Maruko apologizes unreservedly. She likes needlework, and her treasure is her opal ring.

Her favorite food is steamed bean-jam bun and pan-fried noodles.
